Grapefruit + Bergamot = 7-Up??

I don't why, but whenever I wash my hands with this soap, it reminds me of 7-Up!  Who would have thought that by combining Grapefruit and Bergamot you could get the scent of 7-Up!  Which, if you think about it, is really a nice, crisp, clean scent - not too sweet, not too flowery, not too fruity.  Just fresh and clean.  I keep a bottle of this delicious foamy soap by the kitchen sink for quick hand wash-ups, and save the harsher dishwashing soap for the dishes.  A few years ago you could only find Kiss My Face Grapefruit & Bergamot Foaming Soap at Trader Joe's and some health food stores.  Now, if you look carefully, you will see it on the shelf at Marsh, Kroger, Wal-Mart and other mainstream stores.

Flosser Mystery Solved!

Confession: I was a reluctant flosser. I hated the way the floss would cut off the circulation in my fingers and I couldn't fit my hands in my mouth far enough to do a good job. So, more often than I care to admit, it didn't happen. But, one of my goals in 2009 was to become a dedicated flosser ~ and these little gizmos made it possible. Unfortunately, as my supply ran out, I picked up another brand thinking all flossers were the same. Well, they are not! I went through several different brands, using just a few before throwing out the rest of the bag. One brand was so bad that the floss got stuck between my teeth so tight that I had to cut it out with a scissors. But I didn't want to switch to the expensive Glide brand flossers - I mean really, it's a disposable flosser, I want to get by as cheap as possible. Finally, after months of frustration, I was back in CVS and walking down the dental care aisle when something caught my eye. There it was, a familiar bag - my favorite flosser! Mystery Solved! When I worked for CVS I used to do a lot more of my shopping there, but now, not as much. So that explains why I hadn't been able to find them. Now, I am a happy, committed flosser once again.

This post is in honor of my friend, Andria, who ran the Chicago Marathon yesterday. Although my own long runs are limited now, I wouldn't even think of attempting one without a packet of Sport Beans. These little jelly beans, made by Jelly Belly candies, are the perfect combination of carbs and electrolytes to help you get through your workout. No sticky Gu, no cardboard bars - just a neat, sweet, little treat. In four different flavors ~ Lemon-Lime, Orange, Fruit Punch and Berry. Look for these at running or sporting good stores, as well as pharmacies & Target.

Ahhhhh! Love this! Aveda Foot Relief. It smells fantastic. It's not greasy. It refreshes and moisturizes and helps keep your feet soft and smooth. I make this a regular part of my evening routine. And it's even better if someone you love uses it as part of a foot massage. Ahhhh....
Available at Aveda salons.
