Colorful and Classic

Ok, I don't need a new watch, and most days I don't even wear a watch, but IF I needed one and IF I wore one, this would be my new pick - the Carousel Watch by Kate Spade.  So cute, so classic, so colorful with a fun saying engraved inside.  The only think I don't like would be having to pick a color - I like them all!

Buzzing about Beehive RUSKS

Tucked in a Christmas gift of cheese from the Beehive Cheese Company came a little package of Utah Cherry-Rosemary Beehive RUSKS.  How nice, crackers to go with our cheese.  Oh, what an understatement!  It is a serious faux pas to call these RUSKS, "crackers", for they are so much more than that.  The hive-shaped RUSKS are loaded with nuts and seeds, a touch of rosemary, and bit of sea salt, and some dried cherries for a touch of sweetness.  The RUSKS paired perfectly with the Beehive Cheese Company cheeses that we received in the gift box.  I loved the RUSKS so much that I placed an order for some more, along with some cheeses, for myself and to give as a hostess gift.  A little bit different, and so very good.

PS.  I don't know why the company calls them RUSKS, in all caps, but they do, and so I did, too.

Chubby Sticks!

I tried this product based on a recommendation from my friend Christine who says she can not live without it!  I think that's a pretty strong recommendation so I wanted to try it for myself, and so far, I have not been disappointed.  The Clinique Chubby Stick is a moisturizing lip balm made with mango and shea butter that comes in eight natural looking tints.  It moisturizes and protects your lips while giving you just a touch of natural color.  Picking just one color was a tough decision as they are all so pretty, but I decided on the Super Strawberry shade to keep in my bag as my go to balm this spring.

Just Like Elvis... Blue Suede Shoes!

I have been (patiently?) waiting to show you my latest favorite thing, because it is not for me and I did not want to spoil the birthday surprise for someone....  Aren't they cute?  Blue Suede Toms!  Love the ballet flat style! Love the two-tone blue suede!  And you can feel good about your purchase knowing someone in need is also receiving a new pair of shoes.  The style is called Eliana, and I ordered them from the Toms website. From all reports they are cute and comfy, and the birthday girl seems quite happy with her gift.

No Explanation Needed

I have had this Nike ad as my computer background for years.  It speaks for itself.

It's egg-xactly what I was looking for!

During our trip to Germany in 2005, we often enjoyed soft boiled eggs at breakfast.  On the same trip, while shopping in Munich, I spotted these stainless steel egg cups from WMF, a German housewares company.   The egg cups stack neatly together, so they don't take up a lot of cupboard space; have a sleek  look that goes in any kitchen or with any tableware; and the stainless steel makes them quite sturdy and indestructible, even after 7 years, there are no scratches or chips.  We use these almost once a week and I've become quite a fan of the WMF brand.

Some Trivia on Trivets

Here's a little bit of trivia on two of my favorite trivets ~ the one on top was purchased in a home store in San Francisco, (I just checked and you can also order them from Amazon). Then we collected a cork from each winery we visited in Napa, and now we have a useful and memory filled kitchen accessory.  The second trivet is a special two-for-one trivet and puzzle.  It is made of two types of wood, use them nestled together for a bowl, separate them and connect the ends for a casserole.  The puzzle comes when you try to put them back together.  Looks simple, but requires some thought.  This was purchased by an craftsman during an art show on the famous Chain Bridge in Budapest.
